From The Desk of our Moderator, Rev. Jerry Faulk
Greetings,
I am honored to serve as the Seventeenth Moderator of the Kingston Lake
Missionary Baptist Association. As we reflect back at our over 122 year
history, there are named and unnamed persons to whom we must forever be
appreciative of: Our past Moderators, Pastors/Ministers, Deacons,
Missionary Societies/YWA's and the many simple loving and caring
brothers and sisters who now rest, but whose voices cries out from their
resting place and whose Spirits continue to remind us of stones that they
have already laid.
Our Association has been able to survive, when others have split or simply
has become non-existence. Jesus says in Matthew 12:33, "Make a tree good
and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a
tree is recognized by its fruit".
We as an Association are facing our greatest task as we work towards the
completion of our "Business and Education Center". The tasks before us
are great but we can learn a lot from our 44th President. President Obama
throughout his campaign for President used the term "YES WE CAN". He
believed that he could win even when others were in doubt. Our approach
to the completion of our Business and Education Center requires that we
have a YES attitude, along with the persistence and dedication to continue
the "Building and placing of Stones for Posterity".
Yes, we have a history, a legacy that we can be proud to be a part of, for the
same God of Israel has shown us favor
Yes, we were like the four lepers in II Kings 7:3 as they stood outside of the
camp of the Arameans and said to each other, Why sit here till we die?
Yes, like the feeding of the multitude, there were only two little fish and
five small barley cakes, but Jesus took it in His hands and gave thanks, and
caused it to multiply.
Yes, the delivery of the Children of Israel from bondage was no match for
man, nor based on man's promise, but was based on God's promise to
Abraham to bring them out.
Yes, God lead them through the wilderness.
Yes, God met them at the Red Sea.
Yes, God met them at the Jordan River, and told them to take twelve stones
and set them up as a memorial, so when your children asked their meaning,
tell them how God brought you over. God was with them and gave them
guidance how to bring down the walls of Jericho.
Yes, God will lead us to the completion of this much needed project that
will allow us to minister to His people, here on earth.
We proclaim today that we will continue to move forward. We will not go
back to Egypt. We must prove today that the God we serve is not a
backward moving God. We declare that the work we do, no matter how
small or large we do things, the glory does not belong to us, the glory
belongs to God.
I am excited about the possibilities that lay before us. Let us be prayerful
and work diligently, because I know God is holding us in the hollow of His
hands and that is Good Enough for me.
God is our refuge and Strength, Psalm 45:1
